Happy Easter!

A crazy thing happened at our house this morning... the Easter Bunny came. He must of known we would be out of town on Easter and so he was so nice to surprise us all and came early. Samantha and Heather are showing the cute magnet boards they received, Samantha's new spring outfit, movies for the trip (each child got a movie which means that will account for 4-5 hours of peace and quiet while driving), and notice the darling baskets. We love these baskets because they won't fit very much candy in them. These girls are so wonderful. We love Easter and what it represents.

Jamie goes to State

Jamie and his friend Clayton competed in a region band competition. They both played the trumpet and practiced for a long time. When the final moment came, they blasted away the judges and received a 1 (perfect score) and now they are off to STATE to compete further. Way to go gentlemen! (ps You have to pause our music box if you want to hear the video)

The 3 kids NOT FIGHTING

A few days ago Kent and I had been downstairs for quite some time ALONE (when does that happen?) and we finally went upstairs to see what the kids were up to. All three were packed onto Samantha's top bunk and they were actually enjoying each other's company. If that wasn't worth a photo moment, I don't know what is.

Heather the Make-up Artist

Heather is really into make-up and wanted to put it on the both of us. Aren't we gorgeous?

College Bound

Well folks, I've heard it all now. Our total UofU fan teenager was accepted to BYU. The acceptance came like the day after the deadline. Wow! Now the big decisions start. He will still audition on the trumpet at the U and the Y and we'll see what happens. (Oh yeah, he was accepted to the U too)lbh

Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year! At least the 1st graders thought so on Friday, Feb. 1st. Heather played the drums while walking the parade route which lasted a magnificient ten minutes. One of the worst drawbacks of working is that Mom couldn't be there to watch, but Dad sure was since his job is so lay back and easy and non stressful and he can work from home all the time and... Okay I'm done. Below is Heather with Melia and Sarah who not only live by her but are also in her class. Awesome! lbh

Tribute to President Hinckley

President Hinckley has been on my thoughts constantly this past week. I am so thankful that we have prophets on the earth and that we have been able to sit at President Hinckley's feet and be taught by him for many years. I want you all to know that I love him, I honor him, and I am so grateful for his testimony he has shared with us. What an experience to go to his viewing, thanks to Ann who encouraged it. I checked the kids out of school on a whim and rode trax to the Conference Center to pay our respects. Little did we know we would end up waiting one hour outside in line and then another three hours inside before we got to see him. Heather asked while we were sitting inside the center if President Hinckley would have his glasses on. (He did) She was in sincere thought about him. As it was our turn to walk by his casket, I can only describe it as the Spirit in all His magnitude bore witness of who President Hinckley was. My kids unanimously agreed that the four hours of waiting was all worth the ten seconds of spiritual bliss we felt honoring our prophet. I especially want my family to know that I know he was a prophet and that I love him. lbh
